Good Rewards
I just heard this today, and I thought it was a Good reminder --
Instead of over-praising our kids ( and ourselves!) for achievements, wins, goals, best grades, making the grade, participating, showing-up (some of these are really just lame - others are too pushy and pressured exp[ectations...)
WE SHOULD REWARD:
and I would add:
AND for the Good Things, we should continue to
Find - Reward - Keep - and Share -

- generosity
- kindness
- perseverance
- EFFORT
and I would add:
- integrity
- completion (finishing, even if it's less than great)
- accomplishiment, (not necessarily reaching your ideals or highest possible)
